Profile:
Johana is the Samba Queen of The USA and is honored as the Musa queen of the samba school Imperio da Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. She was born in the Amazon of Peru, Iquitos. She grew up with the passion for music and started dancing from very little. Her first trophy in dancing was at the age of 6 years when she won 1st place in a dance competition at school. Later she became a National Champion in Folk Dance from the Amazon and a champion in Afro-Peruvian dance. Today Johana Vizcarra owns her Dance Entertainment Company and her Event Planning company Party Conmigo Events. Johana is for sure a natural dancer as much as a natural entertainer. Johana also holds a degree in Mass Communication and Public Relations.

Tica has a been dancing and moving since the young age of 5. She was trained in gymnastics, ballet and tap in her youngest years. She performed as a singer, dancer, and actress in her youth. In her young adult years she was called to the rhythm of the drums through west-african dance classes. She has studied in Santa cruz Brazilian Samba that fuses samba, salsa, afro-brazilian, and afro-carribbean dance together. Tica loves to play and perform Samba styles from Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. She is also a stilt walker, fire dancer and Salsa Dancer. .

Profile:
Shereen Manalani…has danced throughout her entire life. First exploring the traditional dance forms but later she fell in love with cultural folklore. Shereen has brought cultural dance and educational choreography programs to dozens of schools and events for preK to HS, as well as trainings for teachers and administrators. She’s taught the lecture and performance classes, with an emphasis on Caribbean and Brazilian Folklore, at San Jose State and West Valley Colleges. Classes at Mission Cultural Center, Alice Arts Center, San Francisco State and Santa Clara University have benefited from her workshops and performance preparation. Several local dance companies have been graced by Shereen’s riveting performance, instruction, and choreography. She’s had the honor of performing at many venues including Standford half time shows, Gold Cup Soccer matches, Shoreline Amphitheater, and at Grenada’s National Stadium. You can see her spreading joy each year in San Francisco’s Carnaval, and has even won an award for her choreography in this exhilarating parade.

Andrea is proud to be a SambaConmigo dancer.  She has been training and performing with SambaConmigo for 3 years. She has dance background in Salsa, Samba and Firedancing and is a wonderful hostess.  She is a bay area medical professional. She danced on her due date at SF Carnaval and now is a Sambamama!

Davaryah is a multi-talented performer with extensive performance experience.  She offers the gamet, from Fire Dancing and Hula to Brazilian Samba.  She also has her own jewelry design company, Yayah designs.

Vanessa grew up in Round Rock, Texas, taking ballet and gymnastics class as a child, and later modern, jazz and African dance in college.  She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BS in Computer Science. She now works as an IT consultant serving large Bay Area clients, and has 2 beautiful children.  Vanessa’s passions are ballroom, salsa/bachata and of course Samba!  She feels very lucky and honored to a part of the SambaConmigo team.

Alexandria Hays‘ her passion for performing and love of music led her to begin studying dance at the age of 12. Her background includes African, hiphop, salsa and samba. After receiving a B.A in Community Studies from UCSC she pushed herself pursue her dreams of event coordinating and dancing samba professionally.  She is an event coordinator at www.partyconmigo.com

Mizzy received her BA from SJSU in Sociology and she is currently the dance director of Pura Vida Kidz in the Bay Area. Mizzy is a passionate performer since the age of 12, Mizzy choreographed her own dance team under a program called “Chispa” in high school, since then Mizzy didn’t stop dancing. In 2018 she joined Samba Conmigo and fell in love with samba where she she currently performs all around California.

Sandra Sidiqi was born in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Marketing. She participated in a high school dance group called M.A.S.A club, performing in Mexican folklore dances.  She is a mother of an 8-year-old daughter who is her biggest fan and critic. Sandra has been inspired to join and learn to dance Samba by watching Samba Conmigo performance throughout the Bay area. Sandras first show attendance was New Year’s Day 2018, when she put on a Samba outfit for the first time. Dancing has been an inspiration to keep learning and to share experiences.

Profile:
Krista Lyn has had a love for dance and music for as long as she can remember. She grew up dancing in Arizona, following in the footsteps of many of the women in her family. For the first 18 years of her life, she primarily danced and competed in ballet, point, jazz and tap. Once in college, she began to explore other types of dance and percussion, really resonating with the movement and rhythms of West Africa. In her last year of college, she joined a local bateria; Sambatuque, performing at many local events. Her love and passion for Brazilian music and dance truly took off. She then trained and began performing with SambAZ, led by Angelique Starks, for a year prior to moving to the Bay Area in the summer of 2014. Upon moving to Santa Cruz, she immediately connected with the amazing Brazilian dance and music community and has begun performing with Samba Conmigo.

Krista Marie


Profile:
Krista is a free spirit with an adventurous attitude. She is an experienced model, elegant fire dancer, and brings the booty as a go-go dancer. Her resume has too many performances to list. She offers a mix of hip hop and world beat in her personal styling. Krista joined SambaConmigo to offer her unique talents and join a group of high caliper performers. Krista is currently available in the San Diego area, representing SambaConmigo as a fire-dancer and go-go dancer.

Profile:
Yuliya was born in Kiev, Ukraine. She grew up in the artistic community of San Francisco and began performing musical theater, singing, dancing, figure skating, and modeling at the age of 7 years old. She continued regularly performing in musical theater shows, various choirs, vocal jazz recitals, dance troupes, and plays. Her training furthered in Roehampton University, where she spent a year abroad in the United Kingdom studying ethnomusicology, dance education, and classical/contemporary theater. Since graduating with a BA in Musical Theater and Dance Education, her other projects have consisted of singing with jazz big bands for the San Jose Jazz festival, teaching various genres of latin ballroom (Salsa, Bachata, Cha-cha, etc.), working with non-profit dance organizations, and is a dance coordinator for special needs programs for CSMA. She currently works with many Musical Theater shows throughout the Bay Area (Rock of Ages at Center Rep), performing with her band Echo Street, and loves to share her passion of dance with Sambaconmigo!

Profile:
Egili Oliveira is the the queen samba pasista in Rio de Janeiro. She was born in Brasil, and at the age of 5 years old she began learning her first samba steps.
Egili has been awarded prestigious positions at various schools of samba in Brazil: Musa da Uniao do Parque Curicica from 2008-2010, Rainha do Parque Curicica 2010 -2012, awarded “Gente como a Gente”, Madrinha da Acadêmicos do Asa Norte in Brasilia in 2009, Musa da Tijuca in 2010, Musa de Renascer de Jacarepugua from 2013 – pressent, and Rainha da Escola of Cima da Hora in 2016, and Destaque at Sao Clemente for the last two years.
Egili is the first passista and master teacher from Rio de Janeiro come to USA in samba turnês ,and sher more information about the samba Brazilian culture.
